RULES AND REGULATIONS
400 HUNTING CLUB
Establishment of Rules and Regulations:
1.The Rules and Regulations for the use of the 400 Club facilities, property and
equipment shall be established and/or changed when deemed appropriate by majority
vote of the Board of Directors. These Rules and Regulations, and any change or
addition thereto, shall be posted on the bulletin board of the Club.
2. Use of Facilities:
A. The buildings, grounds and equipment of the 400 Club shall be used exclusively by
Members of the 400 Club, their families and guests.
B. The name of every Member, their guest and visitors to the 400 Club shall be
entered into the Club’s Log when they use or visit the Club’s facilities. Members are
encouraged to indicate jobs done and sightings of deer and other animals on the Club
Property during their stay.
C. Only Members, their families and guests have the right to use the Club. Family
members and guests must be accompanied by a Member unless they are over 21,
have attended Club Work Weekends and have the specific permission to use the Club
Facilities by at least 2 of the Club’s Officers.
D. Reservations to use of the Club’s facilities shall be made with the Club President,
Vice President, Secretary or Treasurer at least two weeks in advance. The Member
making the reservation shall inform the officer of the purpose of the visit to the Club,
be it work, hunting, fishing or other recreational purpose; the names and number of
the people in his or her party; and whether the proposed visit is intended to be
exclusive or whether other Members are welcome to share the facility at the same
time. Reservations will be respected on a first come first serve basis.
E. Any guest who hunts or fishes on the 400 Club property, other than a spouse or
immediate family member who is a minor, shall be charged a fee for the privilege. The
amount of the fee shall be set at the annual meeting.
F. Every Member his family and guest shall be responsible for the proper observance
of the 400 Club Rules. A Member shall be responsible for any and all violations of
rules by the members of its family and/or guests.
G. The majority of the Club membership shall have the right to suspend, expel, banish
and bar any Member from further use of its facilities, any Member, family member or
guest who violates the Club’s rules or regulations or whose appearance, deportment
or use of the Club’s facilities is detrimental or inconsistent with the standards, general
character, and health, safety and welfare of the Club. Infractions are to be reviewed
and acted upon at annual meetings.
H. Any children under the age of 16 shall be the sole responsibly of Club Member
bring them onto Club property and supervised when on the Club property and within
any of its facilities.
3. Maintenance and Upkeep:
A. No Member, by his actions, shall create work for other Members without
responsibility for the workload being first accepted by the other Member.
B. Any and all beverage containers shall only be disposed of in the designated
receptacle in the Club house or in the Member’s vehicle. No litter shall be left to
deteriorate outside in the elements.
C. Those who do not share in the responsibility of cooking shall be blessed with the
opportunity to wash and dry the dishes.
D. The gate should be closed upon entry into the Club property unless visitors are
expected. The gate need not be locked. Open gates invite unauthorized visitors. The
gates should always be closed when exiting the Club property and locked if there is no
one remaining at the camp at the time.
E. Before leaving the Club for home, the Member shall clean and place all cookware,
utensils, dishes, tools, machinery and equipment in their proper place; fill the wood bin
by the stove; replace all wood used from the wood shed and front wood rack; sweep
and vacuum the cabin; place the plastic on the beds; shutoff any utilities used in camp
visit, example; gas, oil and electricity; lock all the buildings; and, take all garbage and
refuse with them. Winter use of cabin requires one to place antifreeze in all drains and
toilet, both tank and bowl, when used, to prevent freezing and damage.
4. Club Property:
A. No equipment, tools or any item of Club property shall be removed from the
Clubhouse, barns, outbuildings or Club premises and taken home, unless and only if
said property has been broken and is being taken home to be fixed and returned and
said act is duly noted in the Club’s log. Equipment may be borrowed only with the
permission of the Club’s officers and so entered into the log. Items to be junked are
determined at Club meetings.
B. Members shall be responsible for any loss, damage or destruction of Club-property
or equipment caused by such Member, the Member’s family or guest and the cost of
repair or replacement of the damaged or broken equipment shall be charged to the
Shareholder’s account if the breakage is due to negligence or misuse and not
ordinary wear and tear, determination will be by Club Members. Any loss or damage
that occurs during the time reserved by the-Member and not noted as found that way
upon arrival shall automatically be determined to be the responsibility of said Member
unless otherwise determined by the Officers or Board of Directors.
C. The Club’s Secretary shall keep the inventory of Club property for insurance
purposes. Any items to be deemed club property shall be added to inventory.
D. Live or dead trees shall not be cut down and removed from the Club property for
personal use unless permission is first given by the Board or Officers of the Club.
5. Animals:
No dogs or any other animals shall be allowed on the beds or furniture in the
Clubhouse, unless the owner thereof covers the furniture to protect the furniture from
fleas, ticks moisture and dirt.
6. Clothing and Personal Effects:
Members shall not store their clothing or other personal effects at the Club or in the
Clubhouse unless such items are clearly marked as belonging to said Member. The
Board reserves the right to limit the amount of personal effects stored at the Club if
space becomes a premium.
7. Firearms and Hunting:
A. All firearms shall be handled on Club property with ultimate care and caution and
treated as if loaded at all times.
B. A responsible adult must supervise anyone under age of 16 when hunting on Club
property.
C. No one is allowed to use glass or objects for target practice which is not of a
biodegradable material.
D. Everyone shall clean up their trash after shooting, i.e., shell casings, being shotgun
or rifle cases larger then 22 caliber, shell boxes, targets which are set up in yard.
E. Hunters shall make every attempt to retrieve wounded game. All hunters in camp
are held responsible in aiding with search for wounded game.
F. No one shall be permitted to hunt deer, black bear, rabbit, elk, quail, woodcock,
grouse or turkey without a license.
G. Always check in at the Club cabin before going out on a hunt, if you are just
arriving for your hunt as others might have arrived to hunt also.
H. Hunting Privileges
First week of fire arm deer season,only fifteen (15) individuals are permitted
in camp to hunt:
(1) Full membership has first priority right to hunt the first week of firearm
season and any other hunting season.
(2) If there are not fifteen (15) full members reserving a spot, the next priority
would be given to application applicants who have attended work weekends.
(3) Family guests will have next priority who have attended a work weekend that
year, attendees of two work weekends have priority over those who have only
attended one.
(4) Unrelated guests who have attended a work weekend that year.
(5) Family guests who have not attended a work weekend.
(6) Unrelated guest who have not attended a work weekend.
